INCH were asked by the Carradale Community Trust to create proposals to establish a local community shop within the heart of the village of Carradale on the Kintyre Peninsula. A former bakery building dating back to the 1860's was the proposed site for the new community run public space.

The proposals looked at rationalising a series of rear extensions to become useable functioning community space which would sit alongside the shop at the front of the building and offer a wider social and economic benefit to the village. The land to the rear of the building was to be developed to offer much needed visitor accommodation in the form of prefabricated holiday Pods.

INCH developed a phased approach structured around the Trusts funding requirements. This would allow the Trust the opportunity to open and run the shop whilst raising the funds to redeveloping further aspects of the site.
