Craigshill Community Centre

Remodelling of existing ad hoc community space to create a permanent hub

INCH Architecture have worked closely with Craigshill Good Neighbourhood Network, developing designs to improve their existing spaces. The proposals re-shape existing inflexible space which is incapable of supporting multiple events to form a fully flexible community centre that can support the local need more fully.

A phased development strategy has been designed which activates further sections of the existing building, and proposes a newbuild commercial extension, accommodating the clients ambitious plans to support community growth and empowerment.

A key move has been to provide a clear and distinct entrance to the building from the adjacent public realm, making a formal 'front door', enhancing visibility in and out of the currently anonymous building.
