A redevelopment of the Tannahill Centre

INCH was tasked with redeveloping of an existing community hub to meet the needs of the current users and future needs of the community. The existing building lacked flexibility, with large, disconnected internal spaces. A lack of a distinct entrance or wayfinding creates a confusing user experience with public spaces lacking from any sort of frontage.
Our proposals address key areas of concern of the building and provide:
- New arrival experience with clear wayfinding and active circulation spaces
- New central cafe and kitchen to reflect their role as a vital community asset
- More efficient internal circulation to new spaces
The creation of a radial plan emanating from the key central cafe space means rooms are organised around the cafe, borrowing light and allowing public frontage.
